Photoshop CS2 freezing up when right-clicking

The application intermittently freezes up when I create a square selection then right-click to apply a stroke. It also just locked up when I right-clicked on the menu bar of the window while trying to edit the canvas size. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

What O/S and Mouse driver?

not sure about the mouse driver but the OS is Windows XP.

what kind of mouse is it mike? there have been reports of problems with ms intellemouse and it’s drivers.
