I have thousands of thumbs in where i would like to improve brightness sharpen etc automatically. I created an action that do it all and save for web in specific folder. But now i get a problem.
Name of thumbs have sizes 40-50 chars. So everything will be alright if photoshop didnt have some limits for save for web filenames, it cut my names to like 16 chars and overwrite all thumbs in gallery in 1 file lol.
When i tried "save as" thumbs weight 3x mroe then initial, even when i tried low quality..

Is it any way to fast improve quality of thumbs that are all in different folders? The best thing would be if program could just overwrite thumb so there would be no problem but I don’t know how to do it.
I would like to do it all automatically cause i have many galleries where i would like to change thumbs.

Do u have any ideas?

Maybe you could start with organizing your files and folders in a more logical fashion. Then what about batch renaming the files before you batch correct the images themselves?

One time fix for file name truncation. See: <http://boostranking.net/ps/No-hyphen-(dash)-in-Save-for-web-33190.aspx>

Permanent fix that works in PS7; I assume it does in CS2:

1. Backup original Default.iros
* Open any image
* File > Save for Web…
* Open Optimize menu (click arrow)
* Choose "Edit output settings"
* Click "Save…"
* Save the file as name "Default original.iros"

2. Create "replacement" Default.iros
* Click "Next" button until "Saving files" panel is visible * File naming boxes ….Top left: (from dropdown menu) "doc. name" …..Bottom right: (from dropdown menu) "ext"
…..All the rest: (from dropdown menus) "none" * File compatibility: UN-check both Mac, Unix boxes
* Click "Save…" again
* This time save the file as "Default.iros"

File exists. OK to replace? (Yes)

SFW will now use the replacement .iros file.
