I just installed Photoshop Extended V.CS3 on a new computer using a new monitor. I was expecting to find Adobe Gamma under my control panel, but it is not there. How can I calibrate my monitor in PS Ext. CS3?

Thanks – Paul

Is that my only choice? I am using a LCD monitor – is that worth calibrating? Thanks – Paul

There are software calibration methods available; quite a few are free.

Do a forum search or a web search for monitor calibration software.

if you have an older version of photoshop you can get adobe gamma from that.

Yes. Software "calibration" is honestly just "guess and shoot" which is something you’d see yourself after having used some hardware calibration tool.

Of course my opinion is based on my personal experience only and I’m aware not everybody will agree.

Oh and by the way I’ve got TFTs, too though not one of those models speficifally meant for photographic work … yet 😉

Cheers,
