I was emailed some jpgs. I fixed the photos, changed the names and saved them in a folder. Then I created an ad in Photoshop and saved it as a pdf. I then tried to email the pdf and the message was that the photo cannot be found (so it will email the pdf without the photo). Why can’t it be found? What did I do wrong? Thanks.

Diane,

Was that message about it not being found on your system or the recipient?

Sometimes, depending on the recipients e-mail setup and client, PDF’s (and other files) aren’t translated correctly – text instead of binary. I’m not convinced that this issue would cause that error message, but I create PDF’s from PSD’s all day long and e-mail them. So I don’t think you did anything wrong.

What’s probably happening, is that on the recipients system, they may have PDF’s associated incorrectly, or they are trying to open it with the wrong program. One guy I sent a PDF to opened up Microsoft Word and did File|Open and chose the PDF. He was concerned that it was corrupted, when in reality, he should have just double clicked on it.

Something to investigate anyhow…

Peace,
Tony
