Opening photos in the middle of the PE2 screen

I am using Photoshop Elements 2. Whenever I open a photo in PE2, it appears on the very left side of the PE2 window. Is there any way to get photos to open in the middle of the PE2 window?

Under Edit/Preferences/General there’s a box you can tick to have the picture open in the middle of your screen.
