why are my pics purple ??

Just loaded photoshop elements and opened a bmp photo. In photoshop the picture is purple and I cant figure out why. Up for suggestions here, Thanks

From all the information you have given me I suspect your problem is that you need to calibrate your elements. Run Adobe Gamma loader.
