How to make canvas fit layer

Hi all, I would like to know how when I put in a new layer to photoshop I can make the canvas the same size as the layer. Thank you

Depends on whether the new layer is smaller than the existing canvas or larger. If smaller, Ctrl-Click on it to make a selection, Image>Crop.

This affects the entire Canvas, thus all layers will be cropped.

If larger, Image>Reveal All.
