I use Adobe Photoshop at work and was thinking about buying Photoshop Elements for home because it is cheaper. Can you create shaped paths around objects so they can be placed in Adobe Illustrator (as an eps.)without the beckground – ie. cutting out around a car body, so there is only a pic of the car without the background?

Elements doesn’t have paths (apart from custom shapes) but all the rest of the selection tools are available … plus you can save files as Photoshop eps. I have never tried it but I guess you should be able to do what you want.
