Hi All,

I’m having a slow palette redraw issue in Photoshop CS3. Very similar refresh delay I experienced in CS2 before the update fix.

Photoshop CS3 – Very Noticeable
(Slow Palette Switching + Slow Redraw)

Illustrator CS3 – Same issue but barely noticeable
(Fast Palette Switching + Fast Redraw)

InDesign CS3 – Same issue but barely noticeable
(Fast Palette Switching + Fast Redraw)

Flash CS3 – Same issue but less noticeable
(Slower Palette Switching + Fast Redraw)

DreamWeaver CS3 – No Issue
Bridge CS3 – No Issue
LiveCycle CS3 – no Issue

FYI
– Defraged HD
– Photoshop CS2 is very responsive.
– Less than 200 Fonts
– Used CS3CleanScrip before initial install.
– Adobe CS2 is installed on my system as well. (Which could be the cause??!) – Experience same issue in Vista
– No other apps running simult.
– Running at 1900×1200

P4 3 GHZ
2 GIGS RAM (a bit low, I know)
NVIDIA GT6800 256Mb
WD Raptor HD
ForceWare 91.47

Let me elaborate a bit more about the palette redraw.
I have to correct my previous post:
The slow redraw speed in PS C3 is not has drastic as the one I once encountered in CS2.

The obvious issue here is the Palette flicker when switching or simply clicking on the palette title. It’s millisecond flicker.
If I clicked on the palette title, even an open one. I can see the text flickering once. It is very unpleasant, therefore I assumed being a redraw issue.

Now I’m not sure if this is what I should except from this new UI, but as I mentioned previously, the issue is much less noticable in other CS3 apps.

Also, I updated my NVIDIA Drivers to 93.71 – the problem persist.

Wow. I have this same problem with the palettes flickering. But, my flickering occurs at a predictable rate (about 2x a second) only when I’m playing video in the background, even if the video is not visible.

I’m trying to train with lynda.com videos .. but his issue is extremely annoying!

Are either of you using a Logitech mouse or MS Intellipoint software?

I’m indeed using a Logitech Mouse. Is there a workaround?
