Motion Blur causing crash in Photoshop CS3

The problem has been seen within CS2 as well, although I never experienced it. What seems to happen, every single time I try to apply a motion blur at an angle OTHER than 0 degrees, I receive a "Photoshop has encountered an error and needs to close." Any suggestions? Any help would be much appreciated.

no problem here kyle (cs3). try resetting the preferences (per instructions in the faq section). when things get weird, that usually helps.
