hi,
Couple of quick questions.
1. Is there anyway I can make the pixcentral image (see url below) appear to be more at eye level (instead of looking down at it). Something like what you can do with google earth (go from looking down on the buildings to where you are standing along side of them).

2. Also, how would you suggest I get rid of the glare (I want to change the texture into a wooden mahogany texture).

Thanks in advance and I hope (this time) I have a picture that is big enough to work with Bob

Bad link.

To use Pixentral’s code for posting thumbnail images with a link here on this forum, you have to select and copy ALL of the code in the box labeled HTML beneath the picture you upload, after Pixentral displays it. You can do this by triple-clicking in that box, or setting your cursor in the box and doing a CTRL + A, CTRL + C. (Select all, copy)

Then, you paste (CTRL + V) all of that code into a reply here.

Is that link above broken? If so, post again in a message (I don’t think you can edit an original topic.)

"(I don’t think you can edit an original topic.)"

The person who starts a thread can go back an edit their starter post for an unlimited amount of time, until the first reply is made. After that, the starting post is locked. The 30-minute rule doesn’t apply.

Life is difficult… this I know…. but why does that have to include copy and paste an URL (that was sitting in the address bar of Internet Explorer)…. and I am very technical when it comes to computer/software (Photoshop excluded).

AArrrgggghhhhh. How is this URL?

And Phos, I didnt think 2 quick questions was a lot, but I will try to keep the future ones to one question.

Thanks

And as to the URL below, I just did a copy/paste and went to another Internet Session and it brought up the picture.

"aaahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!! Now that one doesnt work!"

That’s because you’re not following the directions I gave you.

And I have NO idea where the "forforum.jpg" part of the bit your trying to post comes from.

When you paste the code from Pixentral it’ll look like this:

<a href=" http://www.pixentral.com/show.php?picture=11tAJ9htmNWCUTSLNH 6WWfFrlO5oL31"/><img alt="Picture hosted by Pixentral" src=" http://www.pixentral.com/hosted/11tAJ9htmNWCUTSLNH6WWfFrlO5o L31_thumb.jpg" border="0"/></a>

And the result will appear like the following after you submit the message: < http://www.pixentral.com/show.php?picture=11tAJ9htmNWCUTSLNH 6WWfFrlO5oL31>

Nomad…. your link was the picture… I have to figure out how you do this. But as to what it is. It is a portion of a counter that I will use in a composit and add sombody sitting at the counter.

I wanted to transform the counter down flatter (as if I was taking the picture from a lower angle – ie., sitting across from the subject).

It looks as if I took the picture standing and shooting downward (which I was).

Phos,
First, I appreciate you (and others helping). But at the risk of making you crazy, I am not getting anything like you are telling me I should get.

I have just gone through everything Pixcentral gave to me and did a copy/paste to show you, I am not getting what you say I should be getting.

You would think a simple copy and paste of any one of following links into the message thread would be sufficient. And there are two that start out with your examples of "a href".

Anyway, after hosting the picture, I got:

<‘http://www.pixcentral.com/viewer.php?id=344266forforum.jpg‘> Thumbnail for websites

http://www.pixcentral.com/thumbs/344266forforum.jpg Thumbnail for fourums (1)

http://www.pixcentral.com/thumbs/344266forforum.jpg thumbnail for forums (2)

then a small example of my picture (with AVG advirtising beside it.

Then underneith the picture, it get:

http://www.pixcentral.com/images/344266forforum.jpg hotlink for forums (1)

http://www.pixcentral.com/images/344266forforum.jpg Hotlink for forums (2)

<http://website.hu> hotlink for websites

<http://www.pixcentral.com/viewer.php?id=344266forforum.jpg> Show image to friends

<http://www.pixcentral.com/images/344266forforum.jpg> Direct link to image

Ok, now I see what is happening.

You have to copy and paste the url that says it is "Thumbnail for Websites"

So I am going to start a new clean thread and throw this one into the garbage

The core of the confusion is that Bob is at www.pixCentral.com, while we’re always at

<http://www.pixentral.com>

So without the "c".

Upload yor image there, copy all of the HTML code (not the "forum" code) and paste in in your reply.

This thread is now a mess, I’m afraid.

" The core of the confusion is that Bob is at www.pixCentral.com…"

Good catch, Rob.

I accidentally added a "c" to the hand-typed URL just the other day and discovered PixCentral for the first time.

It’s a newer picture hosting service, because I remember making the same mistake with the "C" when I first discovered Pixentral, and "PixCentral didn’t exist as a hosting service back then.
