Hallo,

I have a psd with a background picture and some text in it. I want to convert it from 70 dpi to 300 dpi. Can I do this with PS?

If you are referring to ppi the answer is yes. Go to image>resize>image size.

It would probably be nice to start a topic about the simple things we all once overlooked. You would be amazed how clever you are. πŸ˜‰

Today my supplier -a real Photoshop expert- installed CS on my system, he stayed for a cup of coffee watched me enhance some wedding images He was amazed about the simple way I achieved some effects. He never realised some things could be done in a simple way too. And by no means I am an expert!

It is worth pointing out that changing from 70dip to 300dpi at the same print size will not increase the quality to 300dpi levels. All it does really is blow up the 70dip image by dividing the pixels. You wonΒ’t get better print quality this way. The quality wonΒ’t actually improve by doing this.

Visually, you sometimes gain "quality" by reasonable uprezzing. Image becomes "smoother", but also "softer"..

Of course, your statement is correct, interpolation can never even come close to the quality you would have by using original pixels at the higher rez.

Photoshop is an application where there is so much you can do and so many different ways to do things that anyone can always learn something new. There are some applications, even some fairly complex applications, where is it possible for someone to say they have completely mastered the app and there is nothing more for them to learn.
