I posted this question on the Illustrator forum and got some great advice. A couple people mentioned this might be more easily accomplished in Photoshop however. Anyone have any advice? (I’m using CS2)

I saw an effect on a logo design page that I absolutely love. They’ve taken a letter and given it a carved out look with beautiful beveled edges and great shading. I’m trying to figure out how they achieved this look and was hoping someone might be able to give me some advice?
