Adobe PhotoShop CS2, pentium class, Windows XP Home, 2 gig RAM.

Scanned an image using a Nikon SuperCool Scan 4000, Adobe 98 colour space, 14 bit, multipass, no ice. The resulting file has some purple fringing where the white subject meets the dark background.

I have been unable to determine how to correct the image or if it is even possible.

Any advice or assistance will be appreciated.
