Help! color management chaos!

So, I have been working on something for a fellow friend of mine. I’m relatively new to photo manipulation, so I was not aware of the importance of proper color management when it comes to making graphics so, I made this image for a friend, the way I view it on my monitor it looks great, once I placed the image online, the quality of the image went down. Also, the view of the image on his computer looks awful too, I will give you an example…

The image on the right, is the actual image being viewed in my Windows Picture Viewer, and the image on the left is the same image online. What can I do to prevent this? As you can see, its a huge change and I’m rather confused about it. lol. Any advice would so be appreciated. <http://photobucket.com>

Convert the image to sRGB then use Save for Web to save it.

This should mnimize the colour shift.
