I have some shape layers with a quite complicated set of layer styles. I made a style out of one of the layers in the styles pallet and applied it to 10 other shape layers.

Now is there any way to edit that style and automatically update the objects it is applied to similar to object styles in InDesign?

Well, you can edit the Layer Style properties of one Shape Layer.

Save it as a new style if you want to.

Then, Right-Click on that Shape Layer; glide down and select "Copy Layer style."

Then Right-Click on each of the other Shape Layers and glide down to "Paste Layer Style."

Better yet, link them and choose Paste Layer Style to Linked.

Cool, Ed. Never did that. Never even paid attention to it in the contextual menu, for some reason!

That is cool Ed. I never noticed that. Not exactly what I was looking for though. I guess I will just add this functionality to my Photoshop wish list. I’d like to see the styles work like styles do in other applications. You create a style, apply it and then if you want to change it, you edit the style and everything the style has been applied to updates. It would be very useful.
