Exact positioning

I wish to insert an object on my graph starting at an exact position, say 800 pixels down and 200 pixels to the right. I want eventually to create an action in order to insert the same object in the same location for all my files.

Right now I use guides to create the point and place the object in one file, but then I have difficulties with the action, I can’t position the object in the rest of the files.

Is there any other way of dealing with this.

Look at the options available for Transform, in the Options Bar. You can position things Relatively or Absolutely.
