Hello all,
Currently I have a 40gb, 7200rpm, 8mb cache drive setup for our PS scratch disk. It is a completely separate drive than the one that holds our OS and PS installations.

Our "work" is on the drive w/the OS, the OS swap file, and PS. Is it safe/recommended to move our "work" files to the drive that also holds our scratch disks ? The drive sure seems like it is being wasted.

How do you folks have your ‘puters setup ?
BTW, this machine is a 2400+ AMD, 2GB ram, PS7 box, 2 identical 40gb drives

Thanks.

Windows being Windows never have your work and your OS on the same drive! I am talking from experience…

If your two drives are on the same channel, your machine can’t use the two drives at the same time so it doesn’t matter which one you tell PS to use for scratch.
I have OS and progs on disk1 (40G)
Work on disk2 (40G)
Backup of work plus lots of junk on disk3 (120G) and soon copy of disk3 on external drive
