Before I left my job to stay at home with my children, I was a self-taught graphic designer. The companies I worked for had purchased Photoshop and Illustrator, and I became very familiar with both programs (the last version I used was in 1999-2000). I never laid out multiple pages, so I have limited knowledge of Pagemaker. Most of the work I did was designing ads, point-of-sale, logos, etc.
Now I am at home with my young children and I would like to freelance from home, but I’d like to avoid the $600+ full versions of both programs. Plus I am sure the full versions contain many more features that I would never/rarely use, such as for web design.
Could someone please recommend a program that possibly combines the photo editing and design features as Photoshop and Illustrator do?
Thank you!
