Awhile back, someone on this forum (I think it was Grant?) gave a link to a website that had these gorgeous black & white photos. It had great examples of the tonal shades like selenium, palladium, etc. It also dealt with printing issues of these b/w photos and talked about an expensive process to print them (i.e. the paper, printer, inks). I thought I bookmarked it, but now I can’t find it. I might have it mixed up in my head, but I do recall the latter part about the inks and such. 🙂

Was it you, Grant? Anyone else remember and boomark it?

Patti,
Take a look at <http://www.inkjetmall.com/> . Another possibility is <http://www.inksupply.com/>.

Both have B&W inkset solutions .

🙂

Thanks for the links, guys. It was the inkjetmall.com that I was thinking of. The word I forgot was piezography. What I wanted it for was that I’m creating a set of gradients to mimic some of classic b/w tonals. I use them on a Gradient Map adjustment layer with Multiply blend mode.

In my search for some examples, I’ve discovered that not everyone sees these tones the same way! So I figured, I’ll just make my own. Learning as I go, and having fun with it too.

Here are some examples so far: <http://www.pbase.com/omd01639/duotones>

Anyone have a other ideas for this other than using gradient maps?

Andrew,

Thanks for the link to Greg Gorman. It really inspired me! I bookmarked the site.
