I want to take a picture and blow it up and print it on 4 or 9 or 12 pieces of paper and then glue them into a poster. Is there some was I can do this with Photoshop Elements? If not, is there some other product that will do this easily?

Tonna,
This is frequently a feature in the printer driver ( some support it, some don’t ) . My Epsons ( 1520 wide, 870 and 890 ) do support the function. Elements doesn’t do this ( that I’m aware of ). QimagePro , <http://www.ddisoftware.com/qimage/> , I believe does support the feature, though you’ll find the interface very busy.

I use a software program called Digital Camera Poster Creator. Actually I just found it and am using the evaluation copy at this point. So far I am pleased with the results. You can find it at http://www.srs1software.com.

Tonna,

Our old Print Shop 6.0 (still runs under XP in compatibility mode) has the option to print posters from blank page or sign projects. After fitting the photo precisely to the print outline in the project select print and you can choose 1×1, 2×2, 3×3, or 4×4 for 1 through 16 pages. We’ve used up to 2×2 with decent poster like results. The down side is that you have no control over resolution and/or resizing. Don’t know what it would look like at 3×3 or 4×4. That’s pushing pretty hard.

Have you checked with a local printer? It may not cost that much to do it as a solid poster – might be worth it just to save the hassle. 😉

"might be worth it just to save the hassle" , Indeed ! <G>

My Epson 1520 will handle 17" x 22" paper and oddly enough, I try to limit my posters to that size .

I have a program called LView Poster that in addition does any size poster but I believe it also does some resolution adjustments. Go to

Thanks for the tips. I tried the QImage and though a bit awkward it does work. May try the other one too. What is all about anyway… just lots of different kinds of hassle.

Depending on the quality you need, make your file size equal to 100 to 300dpi this creates a large file. Your printer may have a tiled print option if not use Microsoft publisher – create a blank document the size you need then insert the picture file.

Publisher has a tile print function which divides the pictture up into seperate sheets with cut and fit lines. I have done this with 4ft x 3 ft maps.

Hi, I saw your posting and I think I have a solution for you. Go to E-bay and search for E-Bay member alliancesoft. Or search for item# 3682627861 in digital imaging. It’s a software program (sells for $9.95) that will blow up any picture to any size you want. It will even make wall size prints. It’s a great program. I bought one and I love it. Very simple to use. He always has about 40 or 50 of these programs to sell at any given time. You’ll love it, Paula H.

Tonna, one more thing. I use clear contact paper to put my poster pieces together. Just cut contact paper to size you need(you can overlap pieces to make it wider)then arrange your pieces on the sticky side. Paula H.
