I just installed CS4 Design Premium on my MacPro 2.66 Dual Core running Leopard. It has the upgraded ATI 1900 video card that was an option on that machine.

I was wondering if the ATI 1900 card’s GPU is powerful enough to show improved performance over CS3 on this machine and if so do I need to set any configuration setting in CS4 to allow it to address the GPU memory? If so, how and where?

Any other tips on optimizing CS4 for Leopard???

Thanks

Photoshop 10.x (CS3) does not use the GPU, although Bridge 2.x (CS3) does to an extent.

If your video card supports the GL features (which I believe it does) then they will be turned on by default. You don’t need to do anything specific. If GL is supported you should see faster panning, zooming, and screen redraw.
