adjustment layer window out of reach

When selecting any choice under Layer, New Adjustment Layer, Levels, the window opens with most of it OFF the monitor, not out of view, in the extreme upper right corner of monitor. Unable to move window or cancel. Must then end program with ctrl alt delete. All other palettes and windows open in normal window positions.

Have uninstalled and installed twice with same results. Has been operating normally until today.

Reinstalling leaves the preferences intact unless you deliberately delete them- and often corrupt preferences are the cause of oddities like this. To reset preferences hold down the control/alt/shift keys (Windows) or the command/option/shift keys (Mac) as you restart Elements – if you get the timing right then you should get a message asking whether you want to reset the preferences (or something to that effect).

You might also try, from the Menu bar at the top, Window -> Reset Palette Locations
