How do I import an .ai or .eps file so that I can then edit the paths?

You have to get them INTO PS before you can C&P them from one path to another. My question is: I have a .eps or .ai file on my harddrive. How do I get it into PS so that I can edit the splines/paths?

Wade,

You can PLACE the .ai file into an open photoshop document

Wade, you can place vector data (CS2 ->) but you can’t edit the paths. You need a vector editor for that.

So you’re telling me if I have an .ai or .eps file and Photoshop and nothing else, there’s no way to get that vector data into Photoshop and edit those curves?

Only with a copy/paste operation, Wade, and for that you need Illustrator or Freehand
