For years I wondered what the lower-case ‘f’ in the Layers palette meant, and stood for. The one that lets you apply layer effects like drop shadow, outer glow, etc. I always thought it stood for Flash, which made no sense, but the logo looked very similar to Macromedia (Adobe) Flash.
Anyways, I was watching Total Training for Photoshop CS2, and Deke said that it stood for "florin", but I don’t know the proper way of spelling it. Florin? Flourine? Flurin? And what does it mean, anyways?
It would make me feel a lot smarter, knowing. π
