Thanks very much James!!!

Once again, I just happened to check the other threads in the Elements forum and there was my name. Glad I didn’t miss it. If ever I don’t respond it’s because other than the Challenge threads, I subscribe to the Mac Photoshop Forum.

Hey, I get two rebates. $20 for the lens and $25 for the 550EX. Cool! 🙂

Here’s a good site for objective data on lenses, not only Canon. They calculate a grade based on mtf figures (mtf is a measure of transmission quality taking both contrast and resolution into account).

<http://www.photozone.de/2Equipment/easttxt.htm>

Canon also publish their mtf data at
<http://www.usa.canon.com/eflenses/>
Go to ‘EF lens lineup’, pick a type then click on a lens and in the popup window down at the bottom is "MTF Chart".

Hi Tel.

Thanks for the links.

The new Canon EF 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 DO IS USM looks great but the price is too high for me right now. I’ve got the 75-300 on backorder so I think I’ll stick with it.
