Photoshop CS2: Double clicking brush drop down menu items don’t always work
yes it does work, it’s just not reflected in the interface. i reported it as a bug within days after cs2 release and have mentioned it once or twice here…

like i said there, even though the focus never changes to the new tip (unless like you say, you click 3 or 4 times) the brush IS selected and if you dismiss the dialog or just start painting, you’ll see that your new brush tip is applied even though the context dialog interface never confirmed your selection.
