Is there a way to create a gradient mask across a photo, then apply a lightening or brightening effect to compensate for objects being farther from a flash on a night shot?
Thanks

Copy your layer and set the layer mode to lighten or screen. Apply a layer mask to this layer. With the gradient tool set to a black to white fill and mask active, drag across the mask.
