Although I have History Log checked in the Preferences dialog box, and Metadata and Detailed selected, History does not appear in the File Info Dialog box (WinXP CS2). I can create a detailed history using a text file. The File Info dialog box shows these 10 items:

Description
Camera Data 1
Camera Data 2
IPTC Contact
IPTC Content
IPTC Image
IPTC Status
Adobe Stock Photos
Origin
Advanced

Why don’t I see History?

The History Log is not related to specific images.

It is a text file which records everything you do in Photoshop.

The history related to a specific file is in the History Palette but AFAIK cannot be logged and appended to the image.

I think what he is saying is that the category line, which should be there, is absent. Look at your File>File Info to see what he means.

Perhaps resetting Preferences would restore it.

That’s not what this Adobe document shows on page 3.

Aha! Now I see it.

Never tried saving to Metadata. I just use it for logging time on a job.
