In Photoshop Elements v4.0 is there any way to print a thumbnail that no longer has the photo connected (i.e. the photo was deleted from the hard drive)? Can the thumbnail of the lost photo be printed, saved to create a .jpg, etc.? Thank you for any insight, suggestions, information. EV

I’m sure it is possible, but certainly not worth the bother–there are not enough pixels in a tiny thumbnail image to yield a usable image.

If there has not been a lot of activity on the disk drive since you deleted the file, check the Recycle Bin; you may be able to recover it from there. If you have Norton SystemWorks, try its own recycle bin. Norton Utilities has an Unerase Wizard that may be able to pull it back for you.

You may be able to enlarge a thumbnail to a fuzzy 4 x 6 inch print, but it will never be a sharp, detailed photo; the pixels needed for the details just aren’t there.
