Actions for Guides

Hi,
I’m trying to write an action for guides whereby when I open a document I can drop guides on each side at .5 inches in from edge.Its no problem to action guides for top & left of document, but bottom and right side has me stumped!
I’m using Photoshop CS2.
Would appreciate any help.

Here is the way to do it…

First, temporarily change your units to Percent. Start recording action. Make the Background a layer or duplicate it. Then in Image>Canvas Size tick Relative and enter -.5 in each field and click on the upper left hand corner box. OK. Then View>New Guide 100% for both Horizontal and Vertical. Finally, back to Image Size and add .5 inches to each field with the upper left box selected.

Haven’t done it as an action yet but I see no reason why it shouldn’t work.

NOTE: It should still work even after you change your units back to whatever they were before.
