i was working on a grayscale image. i filled a selection with 80% black but the color info tab returns a black value of only 74%, meaning when i eyedrop the selection i filled with 80% black, it gives me a 74% value. how can this be? i made sure that i got 100% layer opacity & my fill tool set to normal or overlay. still the same thing. since this image is a link in my illustrator file, i checked it in illustrator hoping to get the correct black value. worse, the illustrator eyedroper returned a C-51.37, M-41.57, Y-39.61, K-5.1 value. this is the first time i encountered this. hope you guys can help me figure this out. thanks.
