getting rid of a red pattern on top of my photo image

always scanned old postcard color images to sell on ebay without any problems. now i get a layer of red dots on top of any image i scan. i could see the image through it, underneath it . i tried in every way i could to get rid of this overlay red pattern. it makes the images look terrible. how can i undo it? or what is wrong? please help!!! thanks.

this is jerry the husband, somewhat more comfortable around computers.

BUT I do not know how to post the image;
Dragging; Cut and paste and some other things did not do the trick.

Please advise or point me to the Faqs.

Go to one of the sites mentioned in #1.

Using the browse button navigate to the picture on your computer and upload it: you will then see a bunch of HTML.

Copy the appropriate code for a web thumbnail and paste it into a message here.

And the appropriate code is ALL of the code in the "HTML" box below the image. Just insert your cursor anywhere in that box, then do a CTRL + A, then CTRL + C. Then just paste [CTRL + V] that copied code into your Message composition field as a new reply.

Leave the "IMG" code alone. It won’t work here.
