My Levels commands suddenly stopped working.

How can I rectify this?

I’m considering removing the Preferences file from the Library, but I’m worried that might wipe out my dozens of custom page setups that I’ve stored in Photoshop.

I have CS3 and a Late 2006 Imac and OS 10.4.11.
