Using a friend’s CS3 and a MacPro, I have found that when a CR2 raw file is modified in camera raw and saved as a jpeg, when that jpeg file is reopened in camera raw, it does not seem to retain the original adjustments made to the CR2 raw file. For example, an image darkened in camera raw and saved as a jpeg, appears much brighter when reopened in camera raw. Not sure if this a display issue or have the modifications truly not been retained? Have not yet tested/compared the two files by printing them, but this brightening effect never happened in CS2. But then you cannot open jpeg files in camera raw in CS2.
Has anyone else observed this? Any suggestions for what might cause this? It is certainly disturbing because you don’t know if the jpegs have been correctly modified or not. Would really like to solve tbis problem before buying CS3
