Anyone know how I can increase the amount of fonts visiable?

I have 2300 on my system, but only 800 or so are visiable to use.

Hi Cathy,

When my font collection grew into the thousands I switched to using a utility like "Suitcase" by Extensis to manage my fonts. I’m on a PC, but I wouldn’t put it past apple to put a tool like that by default on every computer… A PC runs noticably slower when you force it to install fonts in the "Fonts" directory. Everytime you boot up or load Photoshop the computer needs to access those thousands of fonts. Suitcase allows you to temporarily install (turn on or off) fonts that don’t need to reside in the fonts directory. It also lets you organize and preview them as well. Maybe a tool like that would be better than trying to sift through 2300 fonts…

It depends on where your fonts are installed… if they are installed in your /user/library/fonts… try going and putting them in your root level /library/fonts…. make sense? if not let me know… im doing this from memory…. so it may be a little off on the directory… heh but its basically right.
