I am trying to use my rubber stamp tool and it is not working. in the history palette it shows that i am using the rubber stamp tool but it is not covering. Does anyone know what could have happened? I am clicking with the Alt key but it is acting that i clicked on nothing. Help Please!

Are you actually targeting an image layer as opposed to an adjustment layer?

Yes. I only have one layer in the file. and have not made any adjustments on this photo.

When things don’t work right trash the prefs.

Are you perhaps using the Pattern Stamp Tool instead of the regular Rubber Stamp Tool?

Are you sure that you don’t have an active "Selection" and are trying to "stamp" outside that Selection?

Are you trying to work with a locked layer?
Try duplicating the layer then work on the duplicate layer.
