I have used Shadow Highlight in the image adjustments for quite a while. In the past week or two, it does not work anymore. Whenever I try to make any adjustment on any file the sliders do not work correctly. As soon as I make even a 1% change in either the shadow or highlight the photo immediately changes to a high contrast image. No matter how I move the sliders, it now just stays the same. If I slide back to 0 it goes back to no change.

I think this part of Photoshop must be corrupt somehow. I just don’t know if a re-install or trashing some pref file may fix it.

I’m on a PPC G5 Mac running CS2.

Any suggestions?

thanks,
Joseph

Whenever something begins acting weird "suddenly", trashing preferences is the first thing to try.

or you could just trash your preferences because something is acting weird.

I have occasionally seen this too.
But can not yet detect a cause and effect.
