I created a set of 9 layers and form a group of all nine. Opened the group and linked layers 1, 4, and 7. Then linked layers 2, 5, and 8. Then linked layers 3, 6, and 9. Each of these linked sets move as "groups", which is exactly what I want.
Duplicating the group, the three linked "sets" are no longer linked within the new group- all nine layers are now linked together. I first thought this was a bug in PSD 10 beta, then checked and found the behavior is the same in PSD 9.
Incidently, I found this while working on a layer with actual content and many more layers, but found that this is all I needed to do to duplicate it.
