I am setting up a RAID configuration (Striping, no Parity, Mac G5, OS-X) and was curious what Adobe recommends for a data transfer Block Size for images created with Photoshop CS2. The default for OS-X is 32K chunks of data.

Many thanks, and Happy Holidays to all.

In my testing with an external 4-drive RAID stripe used exclusively as a scratch disk, 128k stripe (block) size was fastest- as opposed to 256k, 64k, or 32k.

But if you’re planning on striping disks containing the system, leave the stripe size at 32k; otherwise performance will suffer.
