My G5 has been unable to install any updates. Citing ‘disc image could not be accessed’ ?? I have tried doing the download and install manually but meet the same problem. Please help me stay up to date!

Can you mount any .dmg?

Can you mount a .dmg in a new user?

Am unsure what you mean. If you mean load other programmes or updates then yes. No problemss at all except Adobe Photoshop and Bridge updates. Thanks for the help so far.

Sharkey,

The second suggestion in Buko’s post is a trouble-shooting standard measure: create a new account and log in as a different user (in a freshly created new account) to see whether the problem persists or goes away.

Mounting a ".dmg" means to double click on a file that has a ".dmg" extension at the end of its filename and see if it loads and shows up on your desktop as just another drive. Updaters are usually ".dmg" files.

A ".dmg" file is precisely what the error message means by "disc image" tells you that ‘disc image could not be accessed’.
