save for web not working

either spybot or my fix it utility must have eliminated
a vital file, because the save for web function will not work. error message is[cannot perform this function/assertion has failed] anyone with any advice that might help?please? tried moving the pref file to no avail also uninstalled/reinstalled pe 2.0 nothing helped love to animate gif images! waaaaaah!

I snagged this from one of Rich Coencas’ posts a while back. See if it helps:

"Save for Web has its own preferences and there is a shortcut to delete them on Windows, but it doesn’t work on Mac. However on Mac you can find them in your user/username/library/preferences folder. On Win they are indeed in the registry.
The shortcut is Control-Alt while launching Save for Web"
