Can some one tell if the web page option of PS2 works reasonable well. I’m trying to get a simple web page up, something I hardly ever do and am having a lot of problems.
Thanks,

Peter

GoLive or Dreamweaver are for building websites

He probably refers to Photoshop’s Web Photo Gallery.
I am sure they work well, but I have not used it.

Yes, that’s right, the web photo gallery. Just a simple array of images for preview.

A web site and the web gallery are two different things in my opinion. They are easy to use I use them. But I would not use them as my only website.

I actually like the flash galleries because it makes it more difficult to just grab an image.

What sort of problems are you having Peter?

You should be able to just generate the Web Photo Gallery and upload the resulting files to a web server.

I use this feature all the time to generate wedding galleries. I have also gone a step further and customized the output by modifying a copy of the Basic WPG template file. This does require a little bit of basic ‘know-how’ but is relatively easy.

It seems from other posts that this feature works well.
I can’t get rid of a previous web page. I think it is a cache problem at the ISP. The same old index page keeps coming up no matter what I delete.

I’ve deleted the Browser cache. I’m pretty sure it’s at the ISP side. I started up Internet explorer, something I never do and I get my old index page come up inder that browser. I’ll contect them and see if they can see soemthing wrong on their end.
Thanks for the advice,

Peter

Are you sure that you’re not entering the URL for your original index page, for example:http://www.your-isp.com/your-username/indexpage.html <http://www.your-isp.com/your-username/indexpage.html> but are looking to see an index page that may be named differently, no matter how slight the difference, for example:http://www.your-isp.com/your-username/ <http://www.your-isp.com/your-username/>index-page.html

I be willing to bet the problem is PEBCAK.

Ok, Can someone please tell me what you see. Is it a White or Black background? Do you see a small header and contact info on the bottom?

white b/g, phone no at bottom…..

Check you are not saving the file to a different place, you could save as a new name….newindex1.htm and then upload it, delete old index and rename new one so that you are sure you are working with the right file…. easy to get mixed up, especially with common file name.
