Obviously its hue/saturation and match color, gradiants… right?

CSI: Miami. Who has seen it? How do they get such vivid color w/o posterization? How can I create that gradiant effect of very warm tones over everything without distortion?

I tried googling for images however none have turned up. I guess in order to respond you need to have watched the show. Forums have called it hyper-realistic color.
