SPELL CHECK ERROR

I am running WinXP with PhotoShop CS2. When I try to spell check I keep getting the error "could not complete your request because the spell checker had a problem" I have reinstalled PhotoShop twice. What could be wrong?

Try trashing Preferences.

I must admit, I have never used the spellchecker in Photoshop. Seems…..wrong, somehow.
