I’m in the horns of a Dilemma. I have both Paintshop Pro 8 and PSE 2. There are features of both that I like. PSP8 seems to offer more control and features than PSE2, then again PSE2 does some things more easily. I don’t really want to use both…I’d like to get to know one package really well…but which one. Everything I read in magazines seems to talk about Photoshop.

Has anyone made a comparison of the two and have some comments about why they went with PSE2 or why they chose PSE2 anyway?

Colin I use PSP 8, PS 7 And PS Elements 2 and would not consider giving any of them up. They are so similar if you learn one you can easily use them all.

I am in the same boat as James I to have PSP 8, PS 7, PS Elements 2 and Corel PhotoPaint. I also agree with James if you have both keep both as once you learn one you will know the other.

Have you seen any degradation in image importing a PSD file into PSP 8 or vice versa?

I rarely use PSD as most of my work is done in TIFF but on the few occasions I have seen no degradation of quality.

Unless you are limited on hard drive space, use them both as needed. Just as a side note, I have always thought very highly of Ulead’s Photo Impact program also.
