Does anyone have an answer to the original question?
This is especially problematic when duplicating a layer using the "control"-click method. I can find no way to dup a layer below itself so it doesn’t break the connection between the origianl layer and its clipped layer (curves, etc) above it. Using the icons at the bottom of the layer palette is an option, but duping straight from the layer ids faster for me, prob because I am accustomed to it.
I have searched the forum and the web, but perhaps am using the wrong keywords.
