Hi all

my photoshop cs2 (fully updated) takes a long time to shut down, sometimes up to 15 minutes. It performs fine otherwise (though it also takes a bit longer then "normal" to start up) any ideas appreciated.

other programs that run at the same time:
mcaffee anti virus
adobe photo downloader for PSE 4
windows defender

any ideas very much appreciated

thanks

I’d try turning off your background applications and see if it goes faster..

The only thing happening at quit is writing out preferences (not too large) and deleting the scratch files (which are large, but are SUPPOSED to go very quickly).

We have seen cases where anti-virus or trashcan backup software would interfere with simply deleting the scratch files (which we set to zero length before deleting just to avoid such problems).
