Lots of RAM, dual core processor, plenty of harddrive space, perferably with two drives. The graphic card is the least of your concerns for Photoshop. Any good quality card should suffice.

You may also want to search the archives… this question is asked once or twice a month, so there’s already considerable input. Also, there’s a tech sheet on performance tuning for CS2 you may want to look at.

Assuming you’re looking at a Windows machine, XP Pro is the operating system of choice. Things seem to work on WP64, but it’s not officially supported.
