This has just been happening recently. If I save my RGB image to SAVE FOR WEB, it appears super washed out in the preview window. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Thanks!!!!!

Isn’t this in the FAQs?

Convert your image to sRGB before Saving for web.

Make sure your monitor is accurately profiled. Calibrate often and regularly. Set your gamma to 2.2.

Out of an abundance of caution, trash your Save For Web preferences.

I don’t think it is.
It’s in the FAQs on the Windows side.
Because of the gamma change (in addition to converting to sRGB), even more of a need for it as a FAQ here, I think.

Good Ian. Well done and needed.
But for the Mac forum, shouldn’t there be some mention specifically about calibrating a monitor to 2.2, or at least viewing the SFW preview for Windows Monitor when using a Mac?
This is not as “real” a concern as converting to sRGB, but certainly affects many Mac users with their SFW preview.

I also want to point out (again) that there is a bug in the SFW preview menu (the linked image in the FAQ). So the preview color checked (such as Uncompensated Color, or Use Document Color Profile) is not necessarily what is being displayed.
